Future Ready

The Future Ready is a project run by the Alliance for Excellent Education.  In February of 2017, the Orchard Farm R-V School Board voted to support the OFSD Librarians in becoming a Future Ready School.  Shortly thereafter, Dr. Tom Muzzey took the pledge to designate us an official Future Ready School.

According to their website at www.futureready.org, Future Ready Schools® helps district leaders plan and implement personalized, research-based digital learning strategies so all students can achieve their full potential. We believe every student deserves a rigorous, personalized learning environment filled with caring adults and student agency. District leaders must recognize the potential of digital tools and align necessary technologies with instructional goals to support teaching and learning."

In short, a Future Ready School (FRS) has pledged to make preparing students for college, work and citizenship a top priority and to let that priority steer all future decisions in its endeavors.  In addition, an FRS recognizes the importance of technology and digital literacy in preparing students for the future.
