The Child Center lessons

Over the last two weeks, The Child Center, Inc. visited classrooms throughout the Orchard Farm School District to talk about staying safe on and offline.

Each year, the organization speaks about Body Safety & Sexual Abuse Prevention (PreK, 1st, and 4th), Cyber Safety (5th), and Sexual Harassment (7th).

The Body Safety Program is an age-appropriate lesson to educate children on body ownership, boundaries, and what they can do if someone breaks their body-safety rule. The Body Safety Program encourages children to talk to a trusted adult when they need help.

The Internet Safety Program enhances your child’s understanding of ways to protect themselves while being on the internet. The program is age appropriate and designed to increase awareness of safety, boundaries, and what children can do if they feel uncomfortable online.

The Sexual Harassment Program is age appropriate and students gain an understanding of behaviors which could be considered sexual harassment. The program encourages students to tell a safe trusted adult when faced with uncomfortable situations.
