Rules & Expectations

Rules

In our classroom, we use Whole Brain Teaching. We have lots of fun teaching each other with fun gestures and funny phrases. To find out more about Whole Brain Teaching, click here

We have 5 classroom rules. My students know these by heart the very first day!
1. Follow directions quickly.
2. Raise your hand before you speak.
3. Raise your hand before leaving your seat.
4. Make smart choices.
5. Keep your dear teachers happy.

Rule 5 sounds a bit strange, but I tell them that as long as they follow rules 1-4, they will be following rule 5! Also, rule 5 is very important for our Scoreboard Game!!

Homework Expectations

Students are expected to complete at least 2 stars of homework each night. They are able to choose which stars they would like to complete from the four different options on their Star Homework Bookmark. They are told to circle the stars that they completed. I also ask that parents initial the bookmark each night showing that the students have indeed completed the number of circled stars.

As we know, one of the habits of all good leaders is to put first things first: work first, then play!
